A LIFE REMEMBERED

CASEY KASEM


Casey Kasem’s career took him far from his Detroit roots, but he never
forgot the place where he first cut his teeth as a deejay – and where he
returned several times to celebrate Detroit radio.

Growing up in the Motor City, Kasem was involved with
Northwestern High School’s radio club and majored in speech education at Wayne State University. One of his early jobs in college was as an usher at a WXYZ quiz show. Soon, he was getting on-air gigs.

DON DAVIS
Grammy-winning producer Don Davis, a Detroit native who started as a session guitarist at Motown but became an influential producer, studio owner and business executive, died June 5, 2014 after a brief illness. He was 75.

Tribute to CKLW


The Fraternal Order of Eagles at 25455 South River Rd in Harrison Twp MI, 
will be holding a Special Tribute to CKLW (Oldies Night) on 
Saturday, July 19th from 5:30 pm - 10:30 pm
at the
Mount Clemens FOE Hall

Offered will be lots of great food, raffles galore, plenty of giveaways,
and, of course, all the music you remember from back then.

Jo-Jo Shutty will be the Special Guest and the event is open to the public.

Proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit
