Detroit Mass Mobs a HUGE Success!


On July 13th, for the third Sunday in a row, the Detroit Mass Mob movement filled every seat and spilled out the doors at another historic, architecturally awe-inspiring Catholic church in Detroit.

An estimated 1,800 curious Catholics, many who attend suburban parishes, made for a standing-room-only crowd at Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 4440 Russell, considered the largest Catholic church in the city.

Eileen's Note: I don't know who came up with this idea, but I think it's terrific! I support the efforts of this group and hope that more groups like it are created to support all of Detroit's historic buildings in danger of being abandoned and demolished.
